Initially released in 2024, EADEM’s Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm took the world by storm. It not only moisturizes your lips all day, but also doubles as a lip gloss that keeps its shine and glimmer. The first shades during the launch were Boba Bounce, Burnt Malai, Butter Mochi, Fig Sauce, and Bissap Glaze.
However, over the summer, the brand and its founders, Marie Kouadio Amouzame and Alice Lin Glover, paid homage to Latin and Caribbean heritages with island-inspired sweet and tropical shades like Coquito Dulce, Churro de Canela, and Guava Fresca. They also nodded to Japan, Lin Glover’s roots, with a light pink shade called Sakura Shaved Ice, and to Amouzame’s French roots with Fig Sauce.

EADEM included a personal narrative by Refinery29 editor Raquel Reichard, titled The Coquito I Remember and the Coquito I Created, to emphasize the importance of coquito in Puerto Rican culture. They also featured an excerpt of one of their Mexican team members’ traditional use of churros and cinnamon sugar every Three Kings’ Eve, which led to the conceptualization of the Churro de Canela shade.
The inclusive lip balm complements all skin tones and supports the lips’ natural rejuvenation process, called desquamation. Its consistent hydration eliminates flakiness. Key ingredients that maintain moisture and comfort in Le Chouchou include hibiscus flower acids and plumping peptide.
You can purchase these shades, along with more Le Chouchou Lip Softening Balm shades, at Sephora and on the EADEM website.
