Puerto Rican Day Parade Events This Weekend for the Boricua in You

Pre-parade and after parties for non-stop reggaeton and salsa dancing.

Every year since 1958, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade has remained one of the largest cultural parades in the country. While people show their pride and parade throughout every borough in New York City, the official National Puerto Rican Day Parade takes place on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on 44th Street to 79th Street along 5th Avenue in Manhattan, which was once in Spanish Harlem’s El Barrio.

The parade honors both the late and living ancestors of the culture and diaspora, acknowledges the rich history, and recognizes colonization and gentrification, while also celebrating the over three million Puerto Ricans in the United States and the six million in Puerto Rico. The parade also aims to increase funding for education, the arts, and community initiatives through social and cultural events throughout New York City.

Another way to build community is through parties, with numerous events throughout the weekend, both before and after the parade…and yes…we’re hoping to see Bad Bunny at some point. We’ve curated a list of upcoming events to dance, eat, drink, and mingle. Revisit this article as events will be added and updated throughout the week.
