The rain may have tried us, but Mother Nature didn’t stand a chance knowing Complex’s Family Style Food Fest was taking place at Pier 36. Taking place both inside and outside, the festival merged culinary arts, fashion, music, and sports. Here, over three dozen food vendors and over two dozen clothing brands teamed up with one another to create custom merch. Thousands of people showed up to eat, drink, play, and dance—and we saw some iconic faces, like Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade, Tony Yayo, Robb Bank$, The Alchemist, Giovanna Ramos, KidSuper, Jazlyn aka Jazzy, DeAndre Hopkins, among others.

In support of the Street Vendor Project, Jaeki Cho of Righteous Eats and Flight Club presented Dumpling Magic, Original Halal Food, and Chalupas Poblanas El Tlecuile. Food vendors from around the country, with all cultural cuisines, included L’Industrie Pizzeria, Golden Diner x Golden Hof, Regina’s Grocery, Kuya Lord, Malavita, Fish Cheeks, Ceres, CMarty’s Jerk, Titi’s Empanadas, Taku Sando, Gotham Burger Social Club, Phoenix Palace, La Dinastia x Chino Grande, Chama Mama, Café Kiss, Big Chune, and many more.

Custom merch collaborations included Off-White with Double Chicken Please, KidSuper with Sweet Chick, Potluck Club with Kids of Immigrants, Schmackwich with KSubi, Café Colmado with Brigade, Miss Lily’s with Awake NY, Baekjeong Korean BBQ with Vandy the Pink, Win Son Bakery with Homerun, Taqueria Ramirez with Extra Butter, Don Angie with Buttery Pat, Aunt et Uncles with Jae Tips, Comfortland with STFU, Baohaus with Adidas, Hoy with Baryo, among other collaborations.

Music kept guests on their feet all day—and into the night. DJs like Venus X, Las Flaquitas, Papi Weli, Drew Byrd, Mellow Domingo, Omar SB, and Towfu spun classic hip-hop, rap, R&B, and open format tracks, reflecting Complex’s streetwear culture. Musicians Liim and Tierra Whack graced the stage with live performances, creating a concert setting among the many who enjoyed music and food simultaneously.

The all-day event was also interactive for kids, adults, and families of all ages. Family Style made sure nobody felt left out: A kids’ section for balloon animals, games, and face painting; giant cornhole to win a pair of Adidas; dominoes with Capicu! NYC; an analog photo booth; soccer goals to win Rabanne cologne; basketball shots to win Knicks t-shirts; karaoke; and sneaker giveaways with Flight Club.

Every year leaves a greater sense of anticipation for the next—what kind of food, music, activities, and fashion we can look forward to in 2027. An even cooler concept: Some of next year’s vendors may not even exist yet, but what we do know; it will be delicious.
