“Rap. The Desert. Entendres. Vulnerability. A world. Humour.” That is the self-described blueprint by brother-duo Pink Jagg made up of rapper and vocalist Jagger Spacy, and producer Austin Spacy on their new era of music as announced by their most recent single, “American Spirit,” a raw, authentic genre-blending track that uniquely captures their Spanish heritage.
Finding common ground in their love for music, Jagger's rap and vocal prowess, coupled with Austin’s production skillset learned while touring with Taylor Swift as a professional dancer, their collaboration is a testament to their bond, both familiarly and artistically. “To be honest there’s a whole ass movie here,” Jagger says. “But that’s the gist.” Pink Jagg's Jagger sat down with 1202 MAGAZINE to talk about their brotherly dynamic, love for storytelling, and the desert-rooted, emotionally charged world they’re building through their artistry.

Jagger explains that their stage name, Pink Jagg, carries personal significance. “...We wanted ‘Jagg,’” he says. “But Mick Jagger tried to sue early on when I tried to use it as my artist name.” The addition of ‘Pink’ added an unexpected twist, much like their music; unpredictable and layered. Though currently based in North Hollywood, Pink Jagg’s musical identity is heavily influenced by Arizona. “All of our music moving forward is inspired by the desert,” Jagger shares. A duality that he’s very proud of—and one that filters directly into their sound between the grounded, gritty calm of the desert and the electric, ever-shifting pulse of LA.
The duo’s sonic identity defies categorization into a single genre. It weaves together elements of rap, R&B, and alternative styles fueled by Austin’s production that draws from a diverse range such as Reggaeton, hip-hop, and alternative rap to create a soundscape that’s both fresh and nostalgic, and Jagger’s husky vocals and emotive delivery, that brings the lyrics to life, turning personal experiences into universal narratives.

Their latest single “American Spirit” exemplifies this approach as supported by prior discography including “Second Guessing” (2022), DON’TFEELBADFORME” (2023), “BIG DEAL,” and “Charlie’s Angels”—both in 2024—the latter which explored themes of ‘heartbreak and disillusionment’ and hinted at their growing confidence in storytelling in a sharper, more cinematic tone. Across these singles, Pink Jagg has built a distinct sonic world defined by vulnerability, mood-driven beats, and a quietly rebellious spirit.
Like any other sibling dynamic, working together comes with its own set of challenges and rewards. “It’s raw—lots of arguing. Kinda always changes,” Jagger notes. “Sometimes it’s flawless, sometimes it feels like work. We question everything. But we are both synced to knowing when it’s finished,” going on to acknowledge that the collaborative process is “A dance of chaos and order. Austin’s really good at helping me see different perspectives…Whether it’s the structure, writing the hooks, or crafting the production to highlight keywords and make them into [these] moments.”

With a mixtape on the horizon, Pink Jagg is set on making a significant impact on the music scene. Their commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring complex themes sets them apart in an industry that has lately been driven by trends. “I want to make rap better. Or more exciting,” Jagger says. “I feel rappers have paved the way for others like me to rap, and a lot of them in the game take it for granted. I feel like we have to be better.” Austin, for his part, approaches their work with quiet urgency and intentionality; an underlying belief that music should not only sound good, but also mean something, one anchored in sustainability and purpose.
At its core, they’re more than just a musical act. It’s a manifestation of shared experiences, emotions, and aspirations. Their music invites listeners into a world that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. As they continue to evolve and refine their sound, one thing remains clear: Pink Jagg is here to challenge conventions and redefine the contemporary musical landscape.
